Sep 16,20241. Check the hose condition regularly
Regularly checking the appearance of the 1.5m flexible gas hose is an important step to ensure its normal use. It is generally recommended to conduct a comprehensive inspection every 3 to 6 months to ensure the safety and integrity of the hose. During the inspection, it is necessary to carefully observe whether there are cracks, wear, aging, expansion and other problems on the surface of the hose, and focus on the joints and bends of the hose, because these areas are subjected to greater stress in daily use and are most likely to have problems. Cracks or signs of wear may mean that the hose has aged and there is a risk of gas leakage. In this case, stop using it immediately and replace it with a new hose to ensure gas safety. Regularly checking whether the hose is firmly connected to the gas interface can prevent loosening or falling off. When performing these inspections, you can also gently turn the connection to ensure that the hose is firmly installed and reduce loosening caused by vibration or external force.
2. Avoid exposing the hose to high temperatures or strong sunlight
Flexible gas hoses are usually made of rubber, polyvinyl chloride or similar polymer materials, which may age, become brittle, harden, or even crack under high temperatures or strong sunlight. Therefore, when using a 1.5-meter flexible gas hose, avoid installing it in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Especially in high-temperature environments such as outdoors or in the kitchen, when choosing the installation location of the gas hose, you can use a sunshade, heat shield, etc. to protect the hose to prevent it from aging due to long-term exposure to high temperatures. Ventilation can be carried out at the installation location to help dissipate heat and reduce the impact of ambient temperature on the hose. When choosing a flexible gas hose, you can also consider some hose materials with high-temperature resistance and UV resistance, which can further improve the durability of the hose.
3. Avoid excessive bending and pulling
Flexible gas hoses are designed to be flexible, but they do not mean that they can be bent at will. Excessive bending or pulling will damage the internal structure of the hose, resulting in obstruction of gas transmission or even rupture of the hose. When installing, ensure that the hose is long enough to keep the hose in a natural curvature, rather than being pulled too tight or forming sharp angles. Especially at corners, try to use connectors to connect instead of bending directly. In daily use, if you need to move gas equipment, such as replacing gas tanks or cleaning gas stoves, avoid applying excessive tension to the hose to prevent the interface from loosening or the hose from deforming. Maintaining proper bending and not applying excessive pulling can effectively extend the service life of the hose and ensure its stable performance.
4. Keep the hose joints dry and tidy
Hose joints are prone to accumulate moisture and oil, especially in humid kitchen environments. If the metal joints at the joints are corroded, it may affect the air tightness and increase the risk of gas leakage. Therefore, the hose joints should be kept dry and tidy as much as possible to avoid the accumulation of debris such as oil and water stains. The joints can be wiped with a dry cloth regularly, or a mild detergent can be used to remove oil stains. If the metal joints are found to have signs of rust, it is recommended to perform a slight cleaning and, if necessary, use lubricating oil for protection to slow down the oxidation and corrosion of the metal. In humid environments, waterproof tape can be used or waterproof sheaths can be added to isolate the impact of water vapor on the hose connection.
5. Avoid contact with sharp objects
Gas hoses are easily exposed to sharp utensils, knives and other items in daily use, especially in environments such as kitchens or outdoors. If they are accidentally scratched or punctured, even a small crack can cause gas leakage and create safety hazards. When installing and arranging hoses, ensure that there are no sharp objects around. The hose can be properly fixed in a corner or hidden place to reduce its exposure to scratches. At the same time, be extra careful when carrying or moving the hose to avoid unnecessary damage. When decorating or arranging kitchen equipment, tools or other utensils should also be prevented from touching the hose. Keeping the hose away from the contact area of sharp objects is the key to maintaining its integrity and preventing leakage.
6. Replace the hose regularly
Although the 1.5-meter flexible gas hose may look intact, its service life is usually 3 to 5 years. After exceeding the service life, the hose will lose its original strength and sealing due to the aging of the internal material. Even if there are no cracks or damage on the surface, there may be hidden dangers. It is recommended to replace the hose with a new one in time after the hose reaches the recommended service life. When replacing the hose, choose a product with the same specifications as the original hose and ensure that the product meets the relevant national gas hose safety standards. By replacing the hose regularly, the risk of gas leakage caused by aging can be effectively prevented, thereby improving the safety and reliability of the equipment.
7. Use appropriate detection methods
In order to ensure the safety and leakage-free condition of the gas hose, regular inspections can be carried out. A common detection method is the soapy water method. Apply soapy water to the hose connection. If bubbles are generated, there may be a gas leak, which needs to be dealt with in time. There are also dedicated gas detectors on the market that can detect gas leaks more accurately. For users who do not have professional equipment, the soapy water method is a simple and effective method. It is also recommended to conduct a test after completing the installation or moving the hose to ensure that there are no hidden dangers of gas leaks. Regular testing helps to detect problems in time, take measures to solve them, and ensure gas safety.
