Bellows consist of a tube of plastic-based insulating material with corrugated variations in diameter. Made of rigid material, the pipe is dimensionally stable, while the corrugated surface increases the flexibility of the product, especially in mobile applications. Furthermore, this facilitates the laying of the bellows. Almost all common plastics are suitable as materials for the production of bellows. The CHAOSHUN product range therefore includes a large number of bellows in various material compositions from PVC to PTFE.
Bellows product performance
The specific product properties of various GCHAOSHUN bellows vary widely depending on the underlying plastic and the additives used to enhance performance during the manufacturing process. For example, bellows occasionally contain halogens, which give them flame-retardant and self-extinguishing properties. However, in general, all of CHAOSHUN's bellows products can be certified as dimensionally stable with undiminished flexibility. Therefore, they can be bent multiple times, thereby permanently retaining a given shape using thermosetting. All bellows have excellent mechanical protection properties and excellent resistance to various environmental influences such as moisture. Furthermore, depending on the material and additives, some insulating tubes have special properties suitable for the respective field of application, such as flame retardancy or chemical inertness. To facilitate subsequent installation, CHAOSHUN bellows are also available in slotted versions.
Insulation products are usually designed in the form of black closed corrugations. Nevertheless, the orange variant of the bellows is also available for specific marking, e.g. for high-voltage applications in electric vehicles.
